Having an approved U.S. visa does not guarantee entry into the United States as a foreign national. Every time you arrive at a port of entry, whether land or air, a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer will interview you to understand your reasons for travel. Based on your answers, they will decide whether you are allowed to enter or if you require further review.
During the interview with the CBP officer, your maximum length of stay in the United States will also be determined, which is generally six months.
They will then ask you a series of questions to understand your purpose for travel and determine how long you can stay. Here are the most common ones:

4. How long do you plan to stay in the United States?
5. When was the last time you traveled to the United States?
6. How much cash do you have?
7. Are you coming to the United States with someone?

10. Do you have family or friends in the United States?
