A 5.2-magnitude tremor hits Julian; experts warn of seismic activity ramping up along the fault lines.
At 10:08 a.m. on Monday, April 14, a 5.2-magnitude earthquake with an epicenter in Julian, California, shook various parts of Southern California. The tremor was felt in Tijuana, Baja California, as well as in other parts of the region.
In response to the seismic event, the Tijuana City Council reported that the Municipal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection activated the corresponding protocols, including the preventive evacuation of its facilities.
So far, no material damage or injuries have been reported, although authorities are continuing inspections in different parts of the city. Residents are advised to stay alert for official updates and review earthquake safety measures.
