On the afternoon of Sunday, July 20, Mexican authorities presented a list of the federal government’s most important targets. At a press conference held in Culiacán, Sinaloa, the head of the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, identified three individuals linked to the leadership of the Sinaloa Cartel.
García Harfuch directly pointed to Iván Archivaldo Guzmán and Jesús Alfredo Guzmán, sons of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, and Ismael Zambada, known as “El Mayito Flaco,” son of co-founder Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, as the main profiles attracting the attention of national security forces.
“The Mexican government maintains them as priority targets. All three have arrest warrants for their arrest and detention, with extradition purposes pending. “The location and search are still active,” García Harfuch stated before the assembled media.
