Son of Jonathan Meléndez, survivor of the Atizapán multi-homicide, identified Diego Sebastián ‘N’

The son of Jonathan Meléndez, a survivor of the multiple homicide that occurred in Atizapán de Zaragoza, identified Diego Sebastián “N” as one of the people who was in his family’s apartment. However, the minor, five years old, has not yet given a statement to the Public Ministry due to the emotional impact he suffered.

The information was announced during the hearing this Wednesday, September 9, in which a control judge of the Judiciary of the State of Mexico linked Diego Sebastián “N” and Gerardo “N” to proceedings for their alleged direct participation in the crime.

During the hearing, which lasted nine hours, the Public Ministry explained part of the procedures carried out after the murder of Jonathan Meléndez, his wife Ana Paula, his daughter Sofía and Aleyda “N”, as well as the family pet.

Among the new data, the case of the couple’s five-year-old son stood out. The minor survived because he managed to hide under a bed during the attack. According to what was stated before the judge, she also identified Diego Sebastián “N” as one of the people who was inside the home.

However, the authorities indicated that the child remains in a state of shock and cannot yet make a formal statement before the Public Ministry.

The legal representation of the victims also requested to intercept communications and expand the investigations towards the wife of Diego Sebastián “N”, who is allegedly in Spain. In addition, he asked to review the account statements of both for indications of possible cryptocurrency transfers from the scene of the incident.
