The incident occurred this Saturday, September 13, near the Isla Cortés bridge, where a group of gunmen attacked the vehicle in which she was traveling with her husband and two minor daughters, including a two-month-old baby. Facts about the gunmen
The family was traveling on the highway from Altata to Isla Cortés when they were attacked by armed men, who had previously shot and burned a hotel and the guardhouse at the tourist complex.
Although her husband and daughters were unharmed, teacher Jezabel was shot in the face, killing her instantly. The family vehicle, a white Toyota Corolla, was riddled with multiple bullet wounds and was seized by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) for further investigation.
