Seven young electricians were reported missing after losing contact with their families on Saturday, March 21, after finishing a workday in Matehuala. The workers, originally from Cárdenas, had left on March 16 to carry out work in different locations in the San Luis Potosí highlands.
The last communication with the group occurred on Saturday morning, when they informed their families that they were returning on the Matehuala-Cárdenas highway. From that moment on, their phones stopped answering, and uncertainty gripped their loved ones.
The family reported that a third party, unrelated to the group, alerted them to the possibility of their abduction, although there is no precise information about the exact location or the possible perpetrators. “All we ask is that they be returned alive. They were good workers, they weren’t involved in anything bad,” one of the relatives told local media.
The group was doing construction and electrical work for a private company, constantly moving around the state. So far, there is no record of prior threats or risky situations for the missing men.
