Mexican driver Sergio “Checo” Pérez drove the car that the debuting Cadillac team will use in the next Formula One season for the first time this Friday at the legendary Silverstone circuit in England.
During a test session, the Guadalajara native, who will return to the top tier of motorsport in 2026 after a year’s absence, was chosen to debut his new team’s car, which was painted all black, on the English track.
“Today has been a truly incredible day. We should all be proud to have completed our first laps as a team. Everyone has worked incredibly hard to get to this moment, and it was exciting to be part of motorsport history. We can, and should, enjoy this moment, but this has motivated me even more. I just want to get back in the car and rack up the miles; this is just the beginning,” said Pérez.
Formula One pre-season testing will begin on January 26 in Barcelona.
