In a brief statement, the municipal government of Escuinapa, Sinaloa, announced the cancellation of school civic parades scheduled for September 14 and 16, citing a preventive safety measure requested by the school community.

The decision stems from an agreement reached by the municipal government, education authorities, security forces, parents, and school administrators within the municipality.

Escuinapa, Sinaloa: civic parades cancelled for safety

The September 14 parade—involving daycares, preschools, and Special Education Centers (Centros de Atención Múltiple)—has been cancelled. The same applies to the September 16 parade, which was set to include primary and secondary school students.

The statement, issued by the Escuinapa municipal government on September 11, 2026, attributes the measure to “requests and concerns expressed by the school community.” The text describes the cancellation as a “strictly preventive” action aimed at “ensuring peace of mind and protecting the well-being” of children, adolescents, and teaching staff.
