Sentencing Date Moved Up for Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada in Brooklyn, New York

The sentencing date for Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, has been moved up.

The news was released on December 1st. The sentencing hearing for “El Mayo” Zambada was originally scheduled for January 13, 2026.

However, with recent changes, the new date is one day earlier, January 12th of next year at 10:00 a.m. US time. This information was shared by the newspaper El Universal.

The man who co-founded the Sinaloa Cartel with Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán will be sentenced in the Brooklyn District Court in New York.

“El Mayo will spend the rest of his life behind bars, he will die in a US prison where he belongs. His statement brings us one step closer to achieving our goal of eliminating drug cartels and international criminal organizations,” said US Attorney General Pamela Bondi on August 25.
