Former Cuauhtémoc mayor Sandra Cuevas stated that her relationship with Alejandro ‘N’, El Choko, leader of the La Chokiza criminal group, was “fleeting.”
Furthermore, she asserted that she was unaware of the alleged criminal activities for which federal authorities accuse him after his arrest on Wednesday, September 10, in Ecatepec, State of Mexico.
At a press conference, Cuevas clarified that she would not deny her relationship with El Choko, whom she met on March 1 at a concert in Tlatelolco, but said, “I don’t put my hands on anyone’s shoulders,” and clarified that a sentence is still pending before the individual can be charged with various crimes.
“I’m not going to deny my relationship with Alejandro Mendoza, known as El Choko. However, I want to tell you that although he behaved well with me the times I saw him, my relationship with him was short-lived. I met El Choko on March 1 of this year.”
“I never had much conversation with him; I was never aware that he was someone with as many crimes as they’re now alleging. I must also say, there’s still no sentence, there’s still no sentence that really tells us who El Choko is,” she stated.
She explained that her relationship with El Choko broke down a few days before the ride the former mayor organized in the capital and that she hadn’t seen him on more than ten occasions.
“At that time, I didn’t see anything wrong with El Choko because, presumably, when someone is a criminal, what you want is to hide, and he sought the spotlight, he sought media coverage, he sought to be close to Sandra Cuevas, and so he and I didn’t see each other more than 10 times.”
