El Komanche’s representative confirmed the Salvadoran streamer’s death at 30, prompting tributes from fellow creators as authorities investigate.
Carlos Mauricio Gómez, the Salvadoran streamer known as El Komanche, has died at 30, according to his representative and friend, Byron Reyes. Reyes confirmed the news on October 26, saying he had spoken with Gómez’s family.
His announcement followed reports that Gómez had been found dead at a residence in Monterrey on Sunday, October 25. Although his representative conveyed confirmation from the family, the reviewed accounts did not establish that authorities had publicly completed the official identification process.
Gómez began streaming video games in 2015, building an audience that extended beyond his native El Salvador. He moved to Mexico in 2022 and settled in Monterrey. Among his best-known projects was helping organize the Squid Craft Games, a Minecraft competition bringing together prominent Spanish-speaking creators.
Following the announcement, Ibai Llanos, AuronPlay and other streamers shared tributes and condolences. Reyes remembered Gómez’s friendship and pride in his Salvadoran roots. He also urged people to consider the harm hostile comments can cause online, though his remarks do not establish a cause of death.
Nuevo León prosecutors were investigating a suspected suicide, with autopsy findings still pending. Its account described preliminary information rather than a definitive forensic conclusion. The circumstances of Gómez’s death therefore remain subject to official determination.
