The United States Ambassador to Mexico, Ronald Johnson, congratulated the Mexican Security Cabinet in a message posted on social media for the operation that resulted in the neutralization of Pedro “N,” alias “El Pichón,” who was described as a second-level leader in the organization of “El Chapo Isidro,” also known as the “Beltrán Leyva Cartel” or the “Guasave Cartel.”

“Congratulations to the Security Cabinet for your successful operation in Michoacán against the Sinaloa Cartel.” “Pedro “N” (Pichón) was killed and two other cartel members were arrested in a large-scale operation led by the Mexican Navy,” the ambassador wrote.

However, the information cited by Johnson is inaccurate, as Mexican authorities reported that the operations took place in the municipality of Choix, Sinaloa, and not in Michoacán as he stated.

In the message, the ambassador also noted that these results reflect what the United States and Mexico can achieve when they work together against those who pose a threat to their citizens.
