The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) of Colima announced that, during a confrontation with state police officers, four alleged criminals were killed—among them “El Joker,” identified as a chief hitman for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
In a press release, the agency detailed that the skirmish took place during an operation deployed in the community of El Alpuyequito, within the municipality of Colima. This operation was conducted as a follow-up to investigations into an attack that occurred in February, which resulted in the death of a state police officer and left another officer wounded.
According to the official report, on Friday, March 13, state police officers responded to the region after receiving a report of armed men aboard a vehicle traveling along a dirt road near the Alpuyeque canal. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers caught up with the pickup truck and ordered it to stop; however, the occupants ignored the command and opened fire on the agents. The officers returned fire to repel the attack, triggering a shootout in which four alleged criminals were killed.
The individuals who lost their lives were identified as Iván “N,” alias “El Joker”—identified as the leader of a CJNG hitman cell operating in Colima—along with Fernando “N,” alias “La Bomba”; Junior “N”; and Enrique “N,” alias “Chirimiki.”
