Through investigative work conducted by the National Intelligence Center (CNI), and pursuant to an arrest warrant, Oscar “N,” the main financial operator of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), was captured. Authorities announced this, stating that the detainee was found inside Mexico City International Airport, arriving from a flight from Barcelona, Spain.
Oscar “N” is charged with organized crime and operations with illicit proceeds, involving the receipt and transfer of funds. He is also considered the main financial operator of a criminal group, through the purchase of properties and the operation of tequila and cattle companies.
The detainee was placed at the disposal of the corresponding Public Prosecutor’s Office, who will determine his legal status. The actions were led by members of the Ministry of National Defense (Defense) and the National Guard (GN), along with the Ministry of the Navy (Semar), the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSCP), and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), within the framework of the National Security Strategy.
These activities were carried out in strict adherence to the rule of law and with full respect for human rights. In this way, the institutions of the Security Cabinet reaffirm their commitment to inhibiting organized crime activities and ensuring and safeguarding the peace and security of the population.
