Natanael Cano Fights with a Woman in the Street and Claims People “Hate” Him

For several years, Natanael Cano has become one of the greatest exponents of corridos tumbados and a central figure of the new regional Mexican movement, but despite his success, the singer seems unable to distance himself from controversy.

One of his most recent altercations occurred during his closing set of the Baja Beach Fest in Rosarito, Baja California. In the middle of the show, after hearing what he considered an incorrect track, he lunged at his DJ, punched him, and threw the laptop the DJ was using to the floor, smashing it in front of the audience.

The incident immediately went viral, with some applauding Cano’s intensity while others expressed dismay at what they considered an unnecessary act of violence. For their part, the festival organizers and the singer’s team have not issued official statements regarding the incident.

During an interview with host Pepe Garza, Natanael Cano recounted a recent incident on the street. According to the singer, while driving his car, a woman recognized him and began insulting him because of his musical style.

The person, from another vehicle, reportedly yelled at him that he was a “common naco” for dedicating himself to corridos tumbados (balloons). Cano asserted that he didn’t remain silent in the face of the provocation and responded directly by yelling, “Shut your mouth.”

The Sonoran admitted that these types of confrontations are not unusual in his daily life, as since rising to fame, he has encountered detractors who disparage him for his image and the lyrics of his songs.

With a defiant tone, Cano sent a message to those who attack him: he asserted that those who insult him “have no arguments” and are driven by prejudices based on the lyrics and rhythm of each of his songs.
