A narco-banner displayed in the city of Tijuana, Baja California, contained threats against singer Eduin Caz—lead vocalist of the band Grupo Firme—as well as against commanders and officers of the State Citizen Security Force (FESC). The message referenced an investigation regarding the disappearance of 180 kilograms of cocaine that occurred in 2025.
The banner was discovered on the night of Friday, May 29, draped over the *Vía Rápida Poniente* (West Rapid Way), one of the border city’s main thoroughfares. Videos circulated on social media showed the message displayed on a pedestrian bridge as motorists drove through the area.
According to reports released subsequently, the banner was allegedly placed by several armed individuals. As of now, authorities have not reported any arrests in connection with this incident.
The content of the message was directed primarily at members of the FESC and specifically named various officials and security personnel. The text also included a warning directed at Eduin Caz, whom the perpetrators demanded to stay away from matters related to an individual identified as Cristian Orozco.
The threat revisited a case that triggered one of the most significant internal investigations within Baja California’s security agencies. On October 4, 2025, 180 kilograms of cocaine stored at a property located in the Ojo de Agua neighborhood were reported missing.
For Eduin Caz, this is not the first time his name has appeared in a threat attributed to criminal groups. In February 2025, Grupo Firme canceled a scheduled performance at the Mazatlán Carnival after an intimidating message directed at the band was discovered.
