Influencer Naim Darrechi left Mexico on Tuesday, September 29, after a complaint was made public against him—and two others—alleging sexual assault against Cristina Romero, the mother of content creator Abelito.
In a statement issued by the law firm Abogados CUR, the victim identifies her alleged assailants as public figures who, during a celebration, engaged in unwanted touching and physical contact without her consent.
“The individuals I am identifying in connection with these events are three young men from the entertainment industry with the initials N.A.D. (Spanish national), A.F.R. (Argentine national), and L.E.G.G. (Mexican national). It will be up to the competent authorities to investigate what occurred and determine the appropriate legal liability.”
Cristina Romero’s legal team emphasizes that the complaint aims to set a precedent for this type of offense: “No one should feel ashamed or afraid to report an incident after being a victim of sexual violence.”
In a live stream from the airport, Naim Darrechi downplayed the controversy, placing the responsibility on Cristina Romero for interacting with him and presenter Agustín Fernández during her son Abelito’s party.
“What happened really isn’t that serious. If someone else had danced with her, nobody would be saying a single thing. Nobody would be saying a single thing. The lady wanted it—you could see it on her face, bro,” he stated.
