Written by Parriva — March 29, 2026

The search for Carlos Emilio Galván Valenzuela moved this Saturday, March 28, to the vicinity of the Mexico City Stadium, where his mother, Brenda María Valenzuela, led a protest prior to the match between Mexico and Portugal.

The demonstration focused on demanding that authorities provide updates on the disappearance case and on raising awareness of the plight of thousands of families across the country who are enduring similar ordeals.

Carlos Emilio was last seen on March 25, 2025, after an outing with relatives to the bar La Terraza Valentino, located in Mazatlán’s Golden Zone. Since then, the family has reported facing legal hurdles, a lack of transparency, and threats—all against the backdrop of the ongoing crisis of disappearances in Sinaloa and other regions of the country.

Among the key details surrounding the young man’s disappearance, it is noteworthy that the bar he last visited is linked to Sinaloa’s former Secretary of Economy, Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, who resigned following the public disclosure of the case.
