The Baja California representatives of the MORENA caucus issued a statement supporting Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda after her announcement of the revocation of her visa by the United States government.
In the statement shared this Sunday, they argued that the administration led by the state governor has been a good example in terms of public administration, highlighting programs such as the so-called Violet Card, support for seniors, and scholarships for students.
In addition, they noted that Marina del Pilar has spearheaded the state’s security strategy, which involves the participation of all three levels of government.
Furthermore, they added that the current relationship between Mexico and the United States has been complicated, mainly due to the tariff issue; however, according to the local Morena legislators, the federal government has maintained a firm stance on these issues.
“As Morena’s parliamentary group in Baja California, we recognize the transparency and openness of our governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, in addressing with dignity the personal situation she has shared at this time,” the statement reads.
Finally, they call on the American government to provide clarification regarding the decision to revoke the visas of the state governor and her husband, Carlos Torres Torres, so that, according to them, it can be resolved appropriately.
