Multiple mobilizations continued throughout Venezuela in response to the call for a new enlistment campaign for the Bolivarian National Militia. Political parties and social movements from various countries in more than 100 cities around the world joined together under the slogan “Venezuela is not a threat, Venezuela is hope.”
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro yesterday congratulated the people for their massive and exemplary participation in the second Enlistment Campaign of the Simón Bolívar National Plan for Sovereignty and Peace. He emphasized on Telegram that it was “an act that reaffirms the commitment to the comprehensive defense of the nation” to confront “any threat from US imperialism and its fascist lackeys.”
The official Venezuelan Television channel broadcast various mobilizations throughout the country throughout the morning, where more than a thousand enlistment centers were set up.
In the northwestern state of Zulia, Governor Luis Caldera led a mobilization in the Mara municipality, attended by indigenous communities and workers from the state-owned Petróleos de Venezuela.
In the city of Valencia, capital of the north-central state of Carabobo, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez led the march, which included peasant movements and residents of the metropolitan area.
Meanwhile, more than 100 cities around the world joined in a World Day of Solidarity with Venezuela and for Peace in Latin America and the Caribbean, raising their voices under the slogan “Venezuela is not a threat, Venezuela is a hope,” in response to recent threats from the United States government, which deployed military vessels in the Caribbean Sea, Telesur reported yesterday.
