A 34-year-old man lost his life after “a direct attack with gunfire, on 5 de Febrero Street and Ferrocarriles Nacionales Avenue, in the Nextengo neighborhood of the Azcapotzalco borough,” according to the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC).
They also clarified that the Public Prosecutor’s Office was notified of the incident for the corresponding forensic services, and that the initial investigations are underway to identify the likely perpetrators.
According to unofficial reports, the victim was MMA fighter Christian López, who was allegedly shot to death by a hitman posing as a delivery driver.
According to the same source, Christian sold nutritional supplements at a street market and had been threatened to pay extortion money to the “Malportados,” so it is believed that they were behind the murder.
