The 2025 Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas were marked by a strong Mexican presence. Figures like Natalia Lafourcade, one of the most influential Mexican voices globally, Carín León and Christian Nodal, leading figures in regional Mexican music, and Edgar Barrera, one of the industry’s most influential songwriters, became the stars of the ceremony.

Natalia Lafourcade, already the Latin artist with the most Grammys in history, added another accolade to her extensive career by winning the Latin Grammy for Best Singer-Songwriter Song for “Cancionera,” as well as the award for Best Singer-Songwriter Album for the self-titled album.

Barrera arrived as one of the most nominated artists of the night, with ten nominations, and took home the award for Best Songwriter of the Year in a Tropical Song for his collaboration on Karol G’s “Si antes te hubiera conocido,” thus solidifying his role as a creator of hits that transcend borders.

For his part, Carín León not only competed in several regional Mexican categories, but also shone on stage, sharing an emotional performance with Enrique Bunbury during the tribute to Raphael, as Person of the Year, an event that also featured Aitana, David Bisbal, and Carlos Rivera.
