Known for her work in feminist productions, Actress Daniela Bustamante was praised for her artistic vision and commitment to social justice.
The death of the young actress Daniela Bustamante was announced in a statement by the National Theater Coordination of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL).
Friends of the actress said goodbye to her with messages on social media, where they mentioned that her legacy “lives on forever” and expressed their sorrow that they “never knew it was the last time” they would see her.
“We regret the passing of actress Daniela Bustamante, a stage creator who was part of the play Permanent Solutions for Common Problems, an INBAL 2022 production, as well as the stage production Burn the Fields,” read the message shared by the National Theater Coordination on its Facebook page.
She was a Mexican theater actress who worked on various stage productions. Among the most notable was Permanent Solutions for Common Problems.
She participated in multiple runs of this play, which is no longer showing. Tickets were previously sold on the Ticketmaster website.
She also participated in feminist-themed productions, the most prominent being Burn the Fields, based on the femicide of Diana Velázquez in the State of Mexico. In an interview with Andrés Castuera, shared on his Facebook page, Bustamante said:
“The concept is built around the overwhelming information about the large number of missing women and femicides in Mexico. We got to know Diana’s mother, and from there, we developed the piece in a documentary-style approach.”

“Today I lost a friend, sister, colleague, and confidant… Daniela’s legacy will always live on through our work; I will always be grateful,” wrote stage creator Francisco Ibarra.
