Omar García Harfuch, head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), reported the interception of a semi-submersible vessel in the waters off Manzanillo, Colima, carrying packages of cocaine. Three people were arrested.

García Harfuch stated on social media that, as part of the ongoing surveillance conducted by the Mexican Navy (Semar) in Mexican waters, Mexican Navy personnel intercepted the vessel and located 179 packages containing approximately 4 tons of the drug.

The head of the SSPC noted that in the last week, maritime operations have resulted in the seizure of nearly 10 tons of this drug.

He also emphasized that this represents a direct and significant blow to the financial structures of organized crime, preventing millions of doses from reaching the streets and protecting the safety of Mexican families.
