Personnel from the Mexican Navy (Semar) dismantled a clandestine laboratory and warehouse, allegedly used for the production of synthetic drugs in the state of Sinaloa.
According to information released by the Navy, this occurred in two operations that resulted in the arrest of seven people. Federal sources confirmed to Infobae Mexico that those arrested are members of Los Rugrats, the armed wing of Los Chapitos, a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel.
These operations, carried out in coordination with other federal authorities, took place in the vicinity of Los Cedritos, in the municipality of Cosalá, and Las Tranquitas, in the municipality of Culiacán.
According to the Mexican Navy, the first operation uncovered a clandestine laboratory, commonly known as a drug lab, used specifically for methamphetamine production, near the town of Los Cedritos.
Naval personnel seized and destroyed approximately 500 liters of methamphetamine in the cooking process, as well as various chemical precursors, including 200 liters of toluene, 200 liters of benzyl alcohol, 180 kilograms of caustic soda, and 15 kilograms of tartaric acid.
