The mayor of Uruapan, Grecia Quiroz, filed a formal complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) against members of the Morena party: Leonel Godoy Rangel, Raúl Morón Orozco, and Ignacio Campos Equihua—a federal deputy, a senator, and a former mayor of Uruapan, respectively—requesting an investigation into the murder of her husband and former mayor, Carlos Manzo Rodríguez.
Quiroz García went to the Attorney General’s Office on Tuesday to request that several videos be included in the investigation file for Carlos Manzo’s murder. In these videos, the former mayor publicly accused the three Morena party members of having disagreements with him.
“There are videos where Carlos, while alive, made direct accusations against them, and I believe that is sufficient evidence. And if we have to provide more evidence, we will,” stated the mayor, who also met privately with Attorney General Carlos Torres Piña.
