On July 3rd, Mexican boxer Julio César Chávez Jr. was arrested by members of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles, California, after being accused of lying on his application for permanent residency in that country and also accused of ties to the Sinaloa Cartel.
To this day, his deportation to Mexico is still awaited, allowing him to pursue legal proceedings in our country. However, this has not happened. What has happened is that his professional boxing career, which seemed to have taken off, has been completely lost.
Given this situation, the son of the legendary Julio César Chávez has not only been the victim of much speculation about his legal status, but memes and mockery on social media have also been a constant, even as more than a month of such a painful situation has passed, a shadow that remains difficult to explain.
And the situation does not stop with the passage of time, as is the case with what happened during the conference or the presentation of the Supernova Orígenes fights, which will take place next Sunday, August 17 at the Palacio de los Deportes and which includes fights between celebrities, who are not professional boxers, to provide an exhibition similar to what happens with Ibai Llanos in Spain with The Evening of the Year.
