A man identified as an alleged criminal leader within the Gulf Cartel was brought to trial for his alleged responsibility in the crimes of carrying a firearm, as well as possession of cartridges and magazines for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.
This man is Ulises R. O., alias M-40, whose recapture was reported by Infobae México. He was detained in the Hacienda las Bugambilias neighborhood of Reynosa, Tamaulipas.
On June 22, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported that the man, also known by the alias Fayuka, is believed to be a leader within the Los Metros faction of the Gulf Cartel and is now under official pretrial detention at the Sanctions Execution Center (CEDES) in Reynosa, with a four-month period for further investigation.
Security agents arrested Ulises R. O. after searching the car in which the defendant was being held. Inside the vehicle, officers found a firearm, three magazines, 81 cartridges, as well as four bags of cocaine and 10 small bags of marijuana.

Although the report from the institution headed by Alejandro Gertz Manero does not detail the date of the arrest, the National Registry of Arrests (RND) indicates that the M-40 member’s arrest took place on June 15.
