Ángela Aguilar Releases “Corazón de Piedra,” Her New Single — Coincides with Cazzu’s Release

Ángela presents her latest single, highlighting her venture into the sounds of corridos tumbados, while staying true to the mariachi style that has defined her career.

Ángela Aguilar has released her latest single, “Corazón de Piedra” (“Heart of Stone”), a track from her upcoming album and the first one produced without the involvement of her father, Pepe Aguilar.

The song, now available on digital platforms, has been praised by fans for its fusion of modern corridos tumbados — a genre that has surged in popularity — while still embracing the mariachi elements that Ángela is known for.

This new project also includes her recent singles “Nadie se va como llegó” and “El equivocado”, the latter interpreted by some as a possible response to criticism surrounding her relationship with Christian Nodal.

The music video for “Corazón de Piedra” showcases Ángela with a more mature style — wearing a white low-cut dress, long hair extensions, and riding her horse “Troyano,” a gift from her father, through a natural landscape.

Public attention also focused on the timing of Ángela’s release, which coincided with “Mala Suerte” (“Bad Luck”), the new track by Cazzu, Christian Nodal’s ex. Both artists shared their songs on Thursday, May 15, sparking comments and comparisons on social media. Some users perceived the Argentine singer’s song as a possible nod to her past with the regional Mexican star.

Cazzu’s “Mala Suerte” debuted at No. 3 on YouTube’s global trending chart, outperforming Ángela Aguilar’s “Corazón de Piedra,” which entered at No. 4.

On the Billboard Argentina Hot 100, Cazzu’s track “Mala Suerte” entered at No. 76, marking her 19th entry on the chart.

As of May 2025, Cazzu holds a broader international appeal and a larger digital footprint compared to Ángela Aguilar.
