Los Tucanes de Tijuana Cancel Performance in Uruapan Due to Condoning Crime

Written by Parriva — September 8, 2025

Los Tucanes de Tijuana announced the cancellation of their performance in Uruapan, Michoacán, due to the law prohibiting narcocorridos and any condoning of crime.

In a statement, the group indicated that they will soon announce a new date, in order to offer a better show and comply with state regulations.

Los Tucanes de Tijuana were scheduled to perform this Sunday, September 7, in Uruapan, Michoacán.

According to the infamous “Anticorrido Law,” the performance and/or reproduction of corridos at public events, or any other musical genre that addresses illegal acts, is prohibited.

As a result of this regulation, several groups have been suspended in the state.

The most recent case was Los Hermanos Jiménez, originally from the Michoacan region, whose performances at the Apatzingán national holidays and the Taretan Horse Fair were initially canceled.
