The network that sustained the Chapitos’ power for years has reportedly begun to silently fracture. Ovidio Guzmán’s judicial collaboration with the United States government is causing a chain reaction, and one of the symptoms is the growing distrust among those who maintain their most delicate operation: supply.
According to episode 49 of Anabel Hernández’s Narcosistema podcast, there is currently a wave of distrust among their main drug and chemical precursor suppliers, who have begun to break off communication, suspend operations, and distance themselves from the group.
“Since it began to become known months ago that Ovidio and Joaquín Guzmán López, half-brothers of Iván and Alfredo Guzmán Salazar, were cooperating with the United States government. This caused suppliers of chemical precursors and drugs to the Chapitos to begin cutting off communications with them. After all, who would want to do business with them if their brothers were cooperating with the United States government and could expose them?” the journalist said.
