During this Thursday’s morning press conference, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and Secretary of Culture Claudia Curiel dedicated a special space to recognize the recent distinction bestowed upon Los Bukis, who received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The tribute was hailed as a source of national pride and a significant achievement for the Mexican and Mexican-American community in the United States.
Claudia Curiel, the country’s cultural policy officer, spoke after the official announcements concluded and openly expressed the government’s satisfaction with the international recognition of the grupero group.
“I want to take this opportunity, President, to congratulate Los Bukis because this Wednesday they unveiled an honorary star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a source of pride for all Mexicans and Mexican-Americans,” the official stated.
The star awarded to Los Bukis is the 2,817th on the iconic Hollywood Boulevard and marks a momentous occasion in the history of Latin music. The group, led by Marco Antonio Solís and Joel Solís, was honored in a ceremony that brought together family, friends, and prominent figures in the music and entertainment world, including Demián Bichir and comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias.
