Los Alegres del Barranco reacted to the accusations against them from the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office through a statement published on their social media, in which they denied that the money they receive is illicit.
“We sing stories about the people in general, yesterday and today. We are and will always be allies of society and respectful of the law. We NEVER receive illicit money; our contracts support our claim,” the document reads at the beginning.
They also send a strong message to the authorities and all the people who follow them, asserting that they are singers of the people and only live off their work, which “is legal and easy to verify.”
Regarding the event held on March 29, 2025, at the Telmex Auditorium in Zapopan, they indicated that the artistic director who hired them will give his own version of events when he deems it appropriate and when his lawyers advise him to do so. Meanwhile, they denied the circulating reports about their income.
“Regarding our income, we want to state that we have no allegations or embargoes in the management of our bank accounts, neither as a company nor as individuals, as has been reported in some media outlets,” they stated.
