The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) reported that Alejandro “N,” Othón “N,” Karla Alejandra “N,” and Germán “N” were arrested at the Tlalnepantla Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center. They are being investigated for their possible involvement in the crime of attempted aggravated homicide, following events that occurred on July 19 at a padel club in the municipality of Atizapán de Zaragoza.
The Attorney General’s Office indicated that the Prosecutor’s Office was assisted by members of the Navy and the Atizapán de Zaragoza Municipal Police in transferring these individuals to the Penitentiary Center.
The Attorney General’s Office explained that the suspects were placed at the disposal of a judge within the prison, and a judge will determine their legal status.
He noted that Alejandro “N”, Othón “N”, Karla Alejandra “N”, and Germán “N” were arrested at the Cancún airport in the state of Quintana Roo, in a joint action by the State of Mexico Prosecutor’s Office, INTERPOL Mexico, the federal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the National Anti-Kidnapping Commission (CONASE), the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), and the Attorney General’s Office of Quintana Roo.
He stated that the detainees should be considered innocent until a conviction is handed down.
