Lesly Yarisma Aguilar Jiménez, a mother of two, was deprived of her liberty on January 10, 2025, inside her own home, located in the Laurel II neighborhood, east of Tijuana, Baja California. According to her family and various search groups, two hooded men broke into the house and abducted her in front of her children.

Today, after nine months of absence, uncertainty, and desperate efforts to obtain answers, her family confirmed the discovery of her remains in a clandestine grave, in a squatter area in the Laurel I subdivision.

Lesly Yarisma’s case exposes the plight of families facing the disappearance of a loved one in Mexico and the persistence of searching mothers forced to compensate for the lack of effective action by the authorities.
