Worker in the United States Collects a Lucky Bet from His Latino Coworkers After Canelo’s Loss to Crawford
Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez’s defeat has not only called into question his continued participation in the sport, but has also caused several people to lose their money in curious bets. One example occurred in the United States, where a worker collected money from his Latino coworkers.
In the images circulating on digital platforms, we see the moment when an African-American man collects a bet from his Latino colleagues. He mockingly tells them that they have to pay the money since Canelo was defeated by Crawford.
In the nearly one-and-a-half-minute clip, we see at least five men handing him $100 each, suggesting that the beneficiary won up to $1,000 from the Mexican’s defeat. It should be noted that this entire bet was made in a friendly and healthy environment.
Canelo Álvarez lost his fight against Terence Crawford in Las Vegas on September 13, but the public’s affection seems to remain intact. Despite not being able to retain his position as the absolute super middleweight champion, the Guadalajara native left everything he had in the ring to face Bud. After the loss, Saúl Álvarez took to social media to thank the crowd for all the support shown during the national holiday weekend.
