Zulma ‘N,’ alias La Güera, and Carlos Andrés ‘N,’ both Colombian citizens, were arrested by federal authorities for their probable involvement in the extortion organization known as La Chokiza, which operates in Ecatepec and surrounding municipalities.
La Güera has been identified as one of the regional leaders of this organization, which operates in the eastern part of the State of Mexico and has led to the arrest of at least twenty people so far this month.
According to information released by the Navy, the arrest occurred on September 24 during a ground surveillance patrol. Personnel from the “MARINA” Task Force, in coordination with the Metropolitan Police of Ecatepec de Morelos, carried out the operation on General Manuel Ávila Camacho Avenue.
The suspects were traveling on a black motorcycle and were reportedly detained after an inspection, during which four packages containing green marijuana-like substances were seized. They were taken to the Ecatepec “San Agustín” Justice Center, where their legal and immigration status will be determined.
With the most recent arrests, the number of people detained for their alleged involvement in the criminal organization known as La Chokiza, which operates in the eastern part of the State of Mexico, now totals 20.
