Influencer Hannah Moody, known for her content creation focused on hiking and nature, was found dead after being reported missing in Scottsdale. Her body was found decomposed near a nearby area on May 22.
An autopsy was released Wednesday for the 31-year-old woman, following the discovery of the social media personality, who revealed she was a victim of high temperatures.
“Dead and decomposing approximately two days after failing to return from a trail near Scottsdale. Outside temperatures reportedly reached 40°C,” reads the report from the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The newly released report determines that the actual cause of death was “ambient heat exposure.” Her family became alert and activated a search warrant after she failed to return from her hike in the reserve. Her remains were found with “abrasions on her right shoulder and lower extremities.”
As part of the investigation, a toxicology test was also performed, which came back negative for “ethanol, selected drugs of abuse, and certain therapeutic medications,” ruling out any influence on her body that could have left her lifeless.
Finally, it was determined that she was 500 meters from the aforementioned trail after missing the meeting with her friends.
