A 21-year-old man, identified as Johan Jared Abrajan Carreón, died on Saturday night from multiple stab wounds inflicted by his partner, Azucena Noemí—also 21—following a heated argument at a home in the Universidad Pueblo neighborhood of Saltillo, Coahuila.
According to preliminary investigations and gathered testimonies, the altercation began when Johan Jared asked the woman—who was drinking alcohol outside the house—to come indoors and stop drinking. After entering the property, the couple engaged in a verbal dispute that escalated into physical violence; the woman attacked him in front of Joshua, their young 4-year-old son.
Approximately half an hour after the dispute began, Johan stumbled out into the street, critically wounded and bleeding heavily, to seek help from neighbors; he managed to identify his partner as the person who had inflicted the injuries.
Given the urgency of the situation, neighbors rushed the injured man to the Red Cross facility in a private vehicle. Despite life-saving efforts by medical staff, Johan Jared suffered two episodes of cardiac arrest and died minutes after his arrival.
Municipal police officers arrived at the scene and arrested the assailant.
Azucena Noemí has been placed in the custody of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine her legal status and compile the case file to establish criminal liability for the homicide.
