Grecia Quiroz, widow of Carlos Manzo, former mayor of Uruapan, Michoacán, dedicated a message to him after assuming office following his assassination on November 1st during a Day of the Dead event.
Through social media, the new mayor of Uruapan shared a message addressed to Manzo in which she assured him that she would not let him down and thanked him for the time they shared.
“I swear I won’t let you down, for you, for me, for our children, and for Uruapan,” she wrote. The message is also accompanied by a photograph of the couple embracing and smiling.
Quiroz also expressed her sadness at the absence of the former mayor, who was shot in the town’s main square while with his wife and children.
“I miss you so much, Carlos, but I know you’re still here with me, with us. I know because that’s how I feel you in so many moments.
Thank you for giving me so many happy moments, thank you for being the best father in the world, for loving our family, for giving your life for your people, thank you so much for having existed in this life. I will never forget you. A kiss to heaven, my love, the purest and most sincere love I ever knew,” she expressed.
