Elements of the Mexican Army (SEDENA) seized a significant arsenal, tactical equipment, and thousands of doses of various illicit substances after dismantling a clandestine camp near the municipal seat of El Rosario, Sinaloa.
The discovery was made during ground reconnaissance patrols conducted by military personnel in the southern part of the state. Upon detecting the makeshift structure, used by a group of hitmen who fled upon seeing the soldiers, a security perimeter was established, and a detailed inspection of the site was carried out.
During a physical inspection of the premises, Mexican Army personnel located and secured the following weapons and narcotics:
10 long guns
92 magazines
1,100 rounds of ammunition of various calibers
180,000 doses of methamphetamine (crystal meth)
200 doses of marijuana
80 doses of crack cocaine
Various clothing items
Tactical equipment used by the occupants of the settlement
Once the forensic procedures at the scene were completed, all the seized items were transferred to and placed at the disposal of the Mazatlán Delegation of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR). The federal prosecutor’s office will be responsible for compiling the corresponding case file, conducting ballistic tests on the weapons, and following up on the official investigations to identify those responsible.
Military commanders emphasized that these actions are part of ongoing operations and the increased presence of federal forces in municipalities across the state of Sinaloa, aimed at weakening the operational capacity of criminal groups and removing weapons and narcotics from circulation.
