Historic! Three Mexicans are chosen for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game

The Mexican contingent in Major League Baseball is writing a special chapter in 2025, as for the first time in history, three Mexican-born players were chosen to be part of the MLB All-Star Game, which will be held on Tuesday, July 15, at Truist Park in Atlanta.

Major League Baseball announced the list of reserve players and pitchers who will participate in the All-Star Game, and among that group were catcher Alejandro Kirk (Toronto), infielder Jonathan Aranda (Tampa Bay), and pitcher Andrés Muñoz (Seattle), a first for the league.

Before this election, only 14 Mexican baseball players had been chosen to be part of this event, but on no occasion had three of them been selected in the same edition, surpassing the two occasions in which there were two active Mexicans in this event: 1983 with Fernando Valenzuela and Aurelio López and 1986 with Valenzuela and Teodoro Higuera.
