Avi Loeb, the astrophysicist and expert from Harvard University, expressed his concern as the interstellar object 3I Atlas passes close to Earth on its journey into the vastness of outer space. The scientist’s concern stems from the possibility that the comet is an artifact with non-human technology.

Comet 3I Atlas travels at a speed of over 221,000 kilometers per hour, which is one of the characteristics of Abraham Loeb’s hypothesis regarding the extraterrestrial origin of the interstellar object. In this regard, the expert hopes that the best thing that could happen to humanity is that it is just a comet.

The Harvard expert explained the possibilities that would arise if the interstellar object 3I Atlas were to reach our planet, which he indicated would be very dangerous. Therefore, he hopes and wishes that the comet is just that: a fragment of rock traveling relentlessly through the cosmos.

Avi Loeb stated that the danger 3I Atlas poses to Earth is real should it change its trajectory toward the planet. When questioned by Fox about the possibility of an impact from the interstellar comet, the Harvard scientist explained:

“Yes (it is a danger), if we are visited by a civilization technologically more advanced than ours. 3I Atlas is moving three times faster than our fastest rocket and is 50 times larger than Starship. We cannot face it,” added the scientist, who asserted:
