The United States Embassy in Mexico issued a security alert for its citizens due to the rising wave of violence in the tourist cities of Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo, and La Paz, Baja California Sur.
Federal authorities indicated that after armed individuals set fire to three passenger transport vehicles in different areas of Los Cabos, an operation was carried out to capture those possibly responsible for the incidents.
When attempting to search the premises on the morning of April 25th where the alleged perpetrators of the vehicle burning were being held, federal and state elements were attacked.
Members of the Defense, Navy (Semar), Attorney General’s Office (FGR), National Guard (GN), and SSPC, in coordination with the PGJE, repelled the attack.
“After bringing the situation under control, four men aged 22, 24, 25, and 29 were arrested, and seven firearms, magazines, and cartridges were seized,” the SSPC reported.
