On social media, Julio César Chávez spoke out on July 10 about the situation facing his son, Julio César Chávez Jr., who was detained more than a week ago by U.S. immigration authorities and whose whereabouts have not yet been officially confirmed.
In his Instagram stories, the Mexican champion shared an old photo of himself with his son, accompanied by the message: “God with us.”
“I ask that you keep us in your prayers. I thank those who have sent us messages of support. I love you, son.”
The former boxer’s gesture was interpreted as an urgent call for solidarity and a show of unconditional love for Chávez Jr., whose legal and emotional status has generated a wave of concern on social media.
Julio César Chávez’s message is not the only one along these lines. In recent days, various people close to the boxer have expressed their concern and faith amid the uncertainty.
His wife, Frida Muñoz, has also made her request for prayers public.
On Instagram, the former daughter-in-law of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán posted a photo that reads:
“Lord God Almighty, I present to you the life of Julio César Chávez Carrazco. Surround him with your divine protection, guard his mind, his heart, and his spirit. Show him that he is not alone, that you are with him every step of the way.”
