Although movie theaters are considered places of entertainment, fun, and joy, a branch located in Nuevo Mexicali became the scene of a macabre experience after a young man documented a terrifying sighting of a strange paranormal entity.
The footage was shared by TikTok user “Alexis Lachica,” in which a heartbreaking wail can be heard, only for the camera to focus seconds later on one of the theater’s pillars, from where what appears to be the face of a woman with long black hair can be seen.
In another video, “Alexis Lachica” shared the context of the recording, clarifying that he is not an employee at the branch nor was he alone when he witnessed the paranormal experience, but that it all happened after he attended one of the theater’s last screenings with someone else.
It was after the screening ended around 11:00 PM when, after going to the bathroom on the ground floor shown in the video, he began to hear strange noises. Initially, he thought it was a joke by his friends or a worker trying to scare him.
When he realized the situation, he decided to record with a flash, at which point the entity appeared before him. He expressed surprise as it seemed to have no eyes that could reflect the light, nor any other facial features.
The video went extremely viral on social media, prompting immediate user comments, with opinions divided between those who doubted the authenticity of the recording, pointing out that it was some kind of montage or advertisement for a new horror film; and those who firmly believed in its veracity and even claimed to have witnessed similar apparitions at that and other theaters in Nuevo Mexicali.
“I honestly never believed any of that until I worked in a movie theater and started to believe.”
“It’s a commercial for The Conjuring 4; every movie theater does it.”
“I used to work in a movie theater at night, and you see those things.”
“It doesn’t really look like someone in a costume; it really looks sinister.”
