The work routine of Carmiña Miroslava Castro Salazar—a pastry chef and content creator in Culiacán, Sinaloa—was abruptly interrupted on the afternoon of March 29, when she was forcibly abducted while attending to her dessert shop, located on Rolando Arjona Amábilis Boulevard.

Ada Ramos, her best friend, has reconstructed the moment the young entrepreneur was intercepted while in the company of her young son, aged 10.

According to the account Ada Ramos gave to *Imagen Noticias*, communication between the two women was constant; not a single day went by without them exchanging messages.

The last message they exchanged was sent around 6:15 p.m. Half an hour later, Carmiña—a mother of four known for her business, “Rosa Dely”—was approached by three armed, hooded individuals who forced her into a gray Volkswagen Tiguan SUV. The incident unfolded in plain sight of her eldest son, 10, who was with her at the shop at the time.

According to the reconstruction of events provided by her friend, one of the assailants initially asked about the products she sold. As he approached, the men threatened her with their weapons and ordered her to get into the vehicle. “No, not him! Don’t point your guns at him!” Carmiña pleaded as the men aimed their weapons at her son. “Then get in—*you* get in,” the assailants retorted.

Ada Ramos recounted that Carmiña had opened her shop—which specialized in strawberries and desserts—at 4:00 p.m. She had reopened the business just two weeks earlier, following a prolonged closure caused by the prevailing insecurity in Culiacán.
