Florinda Meza, the star of the character Doña Florinda on the comedy show El Chavo del 8, created by her late husband Roberto Gómez Bolaños Chespirito, didn’t remain silent about Bad Bunny’s portrayal of Quico, from the same neighborhood, in a sketch on season 51 of the American show Saturday Night Live.
The comment was positive, and she posted a video on her social media with her thoughts on the performance, in English, which recalled one of the favorite shows of more than a generation in Latin America. She highlighted that even Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, included a character inspired by Chapulín Colorado in this animated series.
Florinda Meza mentioned that “we are in a wonderful time” in which artificial intelligence is used for positive purposes, as seen in her documentary Dare to Live, where this technology was used to recall moments in her life: “Now more than ever, we must be vigilant and, as a public, pay attention only to verified information.”
