Five young women who disappeared in Celaya were found dead in agricultural wells in the communities of Franco Tavera and La Tinaja, in the municipality of Juventino Rosas, 20 kilometers from the city.
The discoveries were reported last week during searches conducted by collectives and specialists from the State Attorney General’s Office.
The five women, between 19 and 30 years old, appeared on Amber Alert and Alba Protocol missing persons reports.
The victims were identified as Mónica, 19, reported missing on February 26, 2025; Melani Berenice, 21, missing on March 18, 2025; Alondra Rubí, 30, missing on May 12, 2025; Alexa Melissa, 21, was found dead on December 30, 2025, and Jazmín Soto, 19, had been missing since January 9, 2026.
Melani, Mónica, and Alondra were found in Franco Tavera, while Alexa and Jazmín were located in La Tinaja, the State Attorney General’s Office confirmed.
Their remains were found in wells containing water, which were being used as clandestine graves.
