Early Monday morning was the last time relatives of the members of the musical group “Los Juniors de Monterrey” heard from them. They were heading to an event in the municipality of General Terán, Nuevo León, and disappeared en route.
The five members and a driver were traveling in a white Suburban with Guerrero license plates to the aforementioned municipality. However, they never reached their destination, and their loved ones were unable to contact them.
When they tried to call them, their phones were turned off, and the last known location of one of them was on a stretch of the free highway to China, past San Juan, in Cadereyta.
Among those aboard the van were Lorenzo Martínez, 40, the driver; Abraham Leal, 23, vocalist; Oscar Pérez, 23, bass player; Luis Nefaki, 23, bassist; Leonardo Rubio, 34, drummer; and Francisco Alfaro, 18, accordionist.
Fernando, the group’s original accordionist, did not attend the event for personal reasons, so he was covered by Francisco Alfaro. Alfaro noted that the event they were attending was with a client they had not previously worked for.
Family members and loved ones gathered in the Rafael Ramírez neighborhood, in the municipality of Guadalupe, to pray for them and to find them safe and sound, before heading to the Prosecutor’s Office to file a missing person report.
